Meet some of the team that help to put our Shoestring shows together!

Leah Sanders

Actor/Director/Writer

As the current Chairperson of the Shoestring Theatre Committee, Leah joined Shoestring in 2014 and first performed in the leading role of Cinderella. Leah has studied Drama and Production Arts at Conservatoire EAST, West Suffolk College, and Lighting Design for Theatre for a year at Rose Bruford College before returning to our group. Most recently she has started to focus her creativity into writing and produced multiple Pantomime scripts for us to perform, including the script for our 2023 Pantomime Snow White.

Mia McDonald

Actor/Choreographer/Director

Mia first joined Shoestring as a Junior Dancer and has continued to participate in productions ever since. Her first performance was a chorus role in Jack and The Beanstalk and her most recent role was Wendy Darling in the 2022 production of Peter Pan. Mia took part in Brandon School of Dance and went on to study Musical Theatre at Conservatoire EAST, West Suffolk College.

Mia has taken on the role of choreographer for a number of our productions and is now directing our performances for Summer Events.

Jill Hopper

Secretary/Costume Designer

Jill has done plenty of hard work for Shoestring, showcasing her costume skills in some wonderful pieces for our Pantomimes whilst handling all the paperwork for our performances!

Andy Gookey

Backstage/Actor/Director

Andy has been a part of Shoestring for a few years, participating in helping backstage in Captain Righteous and The Christmas Caper - only to end up on stage last minute to cover for an absent cast member! Andy has helped Shoestring continuously throughout the years, both on and off stage.

Suzanne Parsonson

Costume Designer

Suzanne has shown her immaculate costume skills in our shows, including the tricky task of bringing the Magic Mirror to life in an extavagant costume and recreating a new Snow White dress for our main character (see photo).
